Day 3

Hubby's is on day 3 of his 8 straight days of work. Not too bad yet, not looking forward to the back half. And then when he gets his day off, he's taking Peanut down to visit his dad and take in a work paid for baseball game. For two days. Then he comes back and goes back to working! I'll be missing him.

Cousin E and C visited, we all had a grand weekend. The boys played together in their own ways, and it was good to see my sister. Now it'll be forever likely till we see each other again, both being due soon. I'll miss that little zipper loving dude, he was such a good communicator for not speaking much yet. It was so nice to see, and it's always so nice when they can let you know what they want (Usually mom and dad!)

Starting this Monday we're on weekly appointments. Which is early for my new due date, but whatever, we all know she's coming on the first anyways. She's gotta be just like her big brother, amirite? And in two days it's my Birthday Month! A month of joy and laughter, of fun and games, of continuing to work on Peanut picking things I drop off the ground for me :D

Today's been a good day, yesterday was pretty not so cool. But we made do, still got out and watered, since we're now entering drought-like weather. No rain forever, none forever in the forecast. Gave his bike a wash and got him soaked too. Today we played in the water too, went down to the farmers market for beets and carrots and let him get good and soaked for an hour.

Gma and Gpa visited while we were down there and he enjoyed seeing them in-between going crazy in the water. He wasn't too keen on leaving, but Gma promised him tons of fun tomorrow, yaaaaaaaay!! I love Fridays!!!

Urgh, he's been asking since yesterday to watch "VGer" or Star Trek. This morning since 9am. He got halfway through it and came down here to tell me it was scary and didn't want to watch it? This is new. He's instead asked for Pikmin.... yes the video game. When I'm having painful or sick days, we watch video games on YouTube and it's got a spaceship in it. So I've queued up a few videos for him to watch. So I've got a little time here to take a nap, if little miss Almond will let me rest. Fortunately she hasn't been kicking much lately in bed (these fetuses love to attack the bed), which either means she's running out of room... or she's head up and her legs aren't able to do their job. I guess we'll find out eventually, we're kind of getting to that point where she might not turn much more though. Sigh.

Sideways Day

Oy vey, yesterday was just downright horrible. Dear little Almond spent pretty much the whole day lodged sideways in my belly. My stomach was sore all day, I'd wince if Peanut even touched it, never mind a good elbowing as he tried to snuggle up with me. If I tried to walk farther then just one other room she'd start beating up on me, the walking must have tightened up her space. But it took till after dinner till she finally readjusted herself. Let's not have a repeat of that. But we just had another perfectly healthy appointment so we'll stick to thinking about the good and not the bad.

In under 2 months she'll be in my arms, and in 27 days I'll be 31. Feels older than 30, and more then the obvious +1 reason. But it's cool, I don't care much about ages. Just... just feels older. But I'll have these two young'uns to keep me young for quite some time!

Two days till Aunt K comes with the E's! So excited to see them, bummed that it will likely be forever till we see them again. With us both having babies in the next few months, travel will get hard. Le sighs.

Peanut has had another rough week. Zero bladder control, all we can figure was that the milk we bought went bad (like 2-3 days after opening it?!) and that caused it. But for 3 days it was constant accidents. Poor kiddo. He seems to be over it now though, no problems last night and holding it fine this morning. Phew!

We need more Peanut-isms. This morning, after our morning pleasantries, the first thing he said was "Wanna come to my room and see my globe????"

Yesterday after I told him he could have PBJ for lunch, he ran down to the play kitchen to make me some too. Came up with bread and a hamburger covered in glitter. He was very proud. I quickly put the glitter in a harder to reach place ;)

Got to get some energy up this morning to head out, need an eggplant if I'm going to make ratatouille tonight. Ugh, at least I still have time to head out, it's not THHHHHHHAAAAAT LATE :)

HICCUPS!

I don't really remember hiccups with Peanut, but Almond has had them in spades. She even had them at her appointment the other day when they checked her heartbeat (still in the 150-155 range). They're nice for reliable movement feeling, assuming she's suffering from them in a convenient place to feel them. I couldn't really feel the ones at the appointment very much at all.

My PGP pain has been improving slowly, so of course then I went and got my TDaP shot. The T part of it is the bitch while the P part of it was for the baby. I just figured I'd go ahead and get it, forgot a little bit about the sleeping part. You know like how I already am not allowed to sleep on my back? And now I can't sleep on my left side as my arm hurts too much? So I'm stuck on my right.... sleeping sucks.

We're having another recurrence of middle of the night accidents. He agreed to wear a superman diaper last night, I hoped that might do it, but then he was up twice just to pee. So wearing a diaper makes him more aware of his bladder in his sleep? I might just put on an empty shell of the diaper on him at night, it'll keep him a little drier if he does have an accident then, maybe less changing will be necessary and maybe he'll get up on his own more until we're over this hump again. I'm guessing it's just stress, his mommy has had a week of having to tell him that she can't hold him/pick him up/etc etc. That can't be easy.

Though maybe I'd heal faster if I was sleeping through the night better ;)

PS from the future - the diaper shell so far is working great. That should jinx it!

Another week, another appointment

We went in again to check on Almond, no big news is good news. HB still 154, still kicking me, all that fun jazz. Took Peanut out to see Thomas, it was super duper fun, and Uncle A has flown out. This is also enjoyable. I enjoy the fact that I likely weigh the same in both this years and last year's photo, however this time I was rather pregnant. He enjoyed himself a lot, despite the fact that his father was recovering from almost dying to a cashew and his mother couldn't walk around without incurring the wrath of the braxton hicks.

He enjoyed the train ride, exploring the train sheds, seeing all to be seen. It was beautiful weather and wasn't too busy on the weekday. He really did great all day, we were really proud of him.

We then managed to enjoy Uncle A's visit by visiting every day. Despite the fact that dear K decided to come out the same week to work on Almond's room. Which is coming along very nicely. I'm not seeing the photo I'm looking for right now so you'll just have to wait your sweet time, as I'm not walking all the way up there just for a picture right now.

Father's Day has come and gone and also Uncle A has since flown back. And two weeks have passed and all that jazz. Never quite finished this post. We have another appointment tomorrow, so really the title still works! Peanut has been in a new rhythm where he hasn't been napping. It's been working out ok, he hasn't been unbearably cranky in the evening and he doesn't fight sleep. We'll roll like this until it becomes an issue.

We're also struggling with pain, I seem to have developed new pains the last 4 days or so, it may not go away until the end at this point. Though I'm still hopeful!!! And Peanut can only sit on my lap certain ways to prevent the pain. And other stuff too. I guess it's great that nothing came up earlier in the pregnancy. 2 months to go?

Third Trimester... Again!

At our last appointment, my OB informed me that she bumped back our due date 11 days based on the u/s measurements. Which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, my fundal measurements have been right on or above, I first felt her kick at 15 weeks ( 13 weeks seems like a stretch) and Peanut was small in his too and he arrived just fine on his due date.

But whatever, as long as I don't end up going late, there's no issue, right? She'll choose her due date then. She knows what's right.

We passed our glucose test so it seems I do not have gestational diabetes. Always a plus! We had an awful time with that blood draw though, they weren't able to get the blood in my right arm, but he kept trying and trying and trying and eventually my firm hold gave way and I had to focus on not passing out. Sighs. I had hoped that had stopped since my first pregnancy. Can't always get what you want I guess, and maybe I will have a hard time if I want to start donating plasma with the hubby.

He stole my asparagus soup
Peanut's been... at least acting like he is going to grow. I'll have to check him here soon. He had his stereotypical growth week at the beginning of the month, but we didn't notice any extra height. But he's been waking up early and still eating plenty the week after so who knows what's going on. Maybe his toes are growing. Maybe it's that big fat brain. Every day we hear him getting sharper with his statements/comebacks and attempting at learning some humor. His favorite things to say are "Is that a good idea?" and "Which way I go..." We're still waiting on some nice weather this summer, it's been so super rainy. He has a hard time accepting getting wet so he doesn't like to go out in the rain much.

Peanut just informed me I have one minute to finish this up. We've got a fun week coming up, tomorrow we're celebrating Papa's birthday, Thursday is Thomas and Saturday Uncle A is flying up. We're having a transportation week, I got him a new driving iPad game (he rediscovered the iPad a few days ago actually, he wanted to play on my gameboy and I reminded him he had a tablet full of games). He got to ride the snowmobile in an arcade. Trains and planes coming up. We're talking about monster trucks. Not sure what else we'll do offhand, I'm having an off day today, so... you know... space ships. Enterprise. Standard stuff there. Maybe go to the library and find some new books on the subject.

I think my minute is up, ciao!

Busy Busy June

We've entered our third trimester! It's starting off full of painful kicks, making it harder for me to breath and hurting my back. But everything is managable yet, fortunately. Trying to get a lot done in June so if I have to cut back the rest of the summer I'll feel less guilty.

Peanut saw his Great Grandma and family yesterday in a get together, he behaved as well as one could hope. Then this Thursday we go back in to take another peek at Almond, hopefully she behaves better. And in one week I get to go in for my glucose test. After that appointment there's one more I'm not particularly looking forward to, and also just the 2 week appointments in general. This summer can go by quickly for all I care. I know I'll regret saying that in winter, but I'm glad right now that Almond is going to be my last.

Peanut's upstairs singing Enterprise to his train movie. I'm going to give up soon and have him help me make some blueberry rhubarb sauce, our plant is out of control. Rhubarb that is, it doesn't look like my blueberry bushes survived being transplanted. I don't know, I won't say that yet. Just they look unchanged since early spring, which is troubling. Excited that it looks like both my bulbs and kohlrabi are coming up. My peas still I can't tell if any of the teeny weeds are pea shoots, so likely they didn't do well. But mom gave me some more seeds to try, I think I'll plant those in a different spot and give mine one more week to come up. Tomatoes are still good.... oh shoot I was going to go buy eggplant today. But I don't really want to get in the car again right now... it can likely wait another day.

I wanted to have themed weeks over the summer, I'm not sure what to call this week yet though. We're kind of busy for a lot of the week to go anywhere else, but we did go up Rib Mountain this morning. Maybe rock week, hehe. We can draw pictures of rocks? Make a rock collection? We climbed rocks today. I dunno, I'll think on it.

End of May

Peanut dresses himself
I dress Peanut
Peanut got sick last night :( All over the living room. But then has been acting just fine since, other than a low grade fever when I checked him before deciding on school or no school this morning. We have lots of grand plans tomorrow so I figured I'd keep him home today to help ensure he doesn't get worse.

Almond had hiccups last night, I kept all night going "why won't this girl sleep????" only to finally have the aha moment of... I don't think she's actually kicking me! Nothing major going on with her, a friend sent some artwork for the kiddos room, pretty stoked about that, along with some cloth diapers and cloths. Love love love her!

It's the cat's birthday today, 8 years old. Of course they're locked up for being asscats at the moment ;) I suppose I should let them out. They'll get a present tonight and some wet food and forget all about... well their transgressions.

Tomorrow is Peanut's last day of school for the year and afterwards we plan on celebrating with train rides and an afternoon at the splashpad. It's hubby's day off so assuming everyone is healthy it should be a really great day.
