Baby Head!

Peanut spent a lot of time these last few days I believe breached, happily startling me off an on kicking downwards. I was fairly sure there was no benefit to this at all (aside from getting me to make some funny noises), but then Saturday night, while we were happily watching the first Star Trek movie, when I was feeling rather uncomfortable, so reached down to put my hand on my belly which usually makes Peanut calm down... and realized I was feeling a hard lump. Quite possibly his head! So I grabbed Boi's hand and was like 'feeeeeeeel c'mon feeeeeeeeeeel' and he had no idea what I was talking about and I wasn't making any sense but I was afraid Peanut would pull away if we lingered too long, so I was like, 'left side hard, right side squishie, feeeel?!' He finally figured it out and agreed with my interpretation :D

BellyDown24weeks Still suffering from some serious bump envy, but I can make myself feel a little better by standing up and looking down. It's pushed out just fine, just not very round, but this angle disguises the fact. I thought boys were supposed to give you the traditional looking bump *pout* I know I know, I still have 16 weeks to go. But I don't want my belly to be a disappointment at the shower. *mentally urges it*

My belly is disguising that, in actuality, I have about 40 mosquito bites on my feet and legs. Two on the bottom of my right foot, bleh. They like me, they really like me! Oh well, it finally rained this morning, hoping to get s'more this afternoon. Just completely wash out the allergens outside, wash all my sheets, etc etc. Haven't felt too bad today yet, drug free, yeah baby!

I think it's time for a turkey burger! Whole wheat bun, Sriracha, spinach, roasted red peppers, onions, healthy appointment coming up on Friday! Woohoo! Pan is heating up, apparently this has disturbed Kiara and she has gone and skulked away. She's impossible to please.

Exhausted myself yesterday, we were in productivity mode, but discovered the need to put my feet up often. Alas, I am useless. Well, mostly, work, rest, work, rest. Then we noticed the sun was setting, and we went for a walk against my better judgement. Oh well, I enjoyed the company :) I think I'll go finish my burger and take my nap.

Gender is revealed! It's a...

BoyParts Boy! He's got a penis and everything. I had her get another shot for me, because I wasn't convinced with the shots I'd seen thus far (not that I didn't believe her, but I didn't want lingering doubt), so she moved around a bit more and got the unchallengeable shot. So Peanut is a boy!

Peanut was, as I suspected, very low. Very very low. Bladder crushingly low. His head was so jammed down there the tech couldn't get any head shots for the first hour or so. She tried inverting me, rolling me around, but he was unwilling. Finally she had me go try the bathroom and told me to do some stretching, so I thought about it, and decided to touch my toes, and tried to give my midsection a good squeezing, and voila, when I straightened out I felt less pressure! Sure enough he had flipped so his head moved up a bit and was facing up.

PeanutProfile By the way for most of the images I post, you can click on them for a bigger version. So after he turned we got to see his little face. Mouth, nose, the black area is his heart, you can see his spine along the bottom. The doctor didn't get the radiology report before my appointment, so she couldn't tell me much (I knew I should have pressured the tech to give me the weight/height stats!) But she did say that the spine looked good, and we have a nose/lips shot that doesn't show any cleft pallet, so things from that standpoint looks great!

I think I'm going to drag out some of these pics :) So I'll put one or two of them up in each post for awhile. Well, the ones that I can distinguish at least, there are one or two that I'm not sure if it's an arm or a leg or what, and not all of them are labeled....

But clearly he's a charmer already :) Now if you'll excuse me, momma is still recovering from almost an hour and a half of having pressure on her abdomen, owww, as soon as we left I could slowly feel everything down there tense up big time, I assume as the initial excitement of it all started to wear off. We tried stopping by Target, but after awhile, even though I had temporarily walked off the tightness, I started getting queasy and light headed and had to go home and lie down for an hour before I started feeling human again. Still can't do anything but lay down for too long, but hey, tomorrow is another day, and if all I can manage today is a blog post, a few phone calls and an ultrasound, so be it.

It's sunny out there

We haven't had to great of a time these last few days, but I'm pretty determined that today is going to be different. So we're just going to ignore flu-injuryness, and feel completely swell from here on out, just like it looks outside. 40s today baby!

I really love Wednesdays. Because it's closer to the next week then it was the old week. So I figure if a stranger came up and asked me, I would just say Peanut was 15 weeks. Yeah, I know. I'm like a three-year-old, but I love it. But hey, it's exciting, a week further, and this time Peanut will be 3/8 of the way there!

I have a new favorite outfit for lounging around at home. I used to spend most of my downtime at home in a sweater, it's become just way too warm the last few weeks... already... great. So lately I've been wearing a tank top and one of Boi's short sleeve button down shirts. It's usually just right, nice and comfy.

I have this sudden desire to pack up the cats and go on vacation somewhere tropical. Yeah, yeah, it's warmer there then in my house, but hey, it's trooooopical. How can you go wrong? Instead, I have to leave them and get ready to get picked up for dinner. It's my uncle's birthday, yay! And anytime I don't have to drive the Boi-Mobile someplace, I'm happy! I miss my car, but I know it's happier getting driven every day. Too bad dinner isn't on a coast someplace, it's downtown. But I guess it's a step in the right direction - out of the house!
