Last night was bad for peanut and I. He didn't sleep well, and I really couldn't sleep at all. He's napping right now, thank good goodness I "ruined my diet " by going to Arby's and getting a sandwich and a Diet Coke. Really I went for the Diet Coke. I'm hoping were both a little happier after he wakes up more awake. Hopefully Boi Will be home early and won't go back into work after his special thing. Then he'll be home between three and four which would be great. If it's not raining we'll go outside later, as he is enjoying playing in the leaves and such.
Still coughing still not tooth. Good thing I love him. I'll try to post something happy later on. For now, here he is last night with Great Grandma P

Outside Play
It's a nice day outside, at least it was before it started raining. Grandma came over today play with peanut, they had a blast. He has been pretty vocal the last few days and also May have finally picked a first word. Mama :) we are struggling with the conversion to one nap a day. But to get him to take a second one, if there is even time, is like pulling nails. He had been taking two a day while he was sick, and his sleeping was getting better - 10 hour stretches at night. Last night was nothing like that, and it was his first one nap day in a while. But he also has that sixth tooth coming in. But I don't know. I tried to get him to nap longer today but he actually napped less. Rolling eyes. Hopefully the rain stops soon and the temperature doesn't drop, will go play outside and wait for his daddy to come home.

More teeth!
Ok , updating quick via my phone. Hopefully this increases the frequency of my posts, as peanut won't let me use the computer much while he's awake. He now has five teeth, and the sixth tooth is on its way. It better be soon. He is extremely cranky, and the very very very bad teether. Two more weeks until Halloween, Peanut is going to be a dinosaur. We tried on the past two months already, but he wasn't a huge fan of it. Hopefully if we try it a few more times he will like it for trick or treating.
Sorry for any typos and the like, I'm doing a voice post... Peanut is running around the kitchen finding cheese from his lunch stuck to his highchair. I guess there's no real harm in letting him eat it. Last night for the first time he brought us one of his socks and shoes to put on his feet. Usually he just wants us to put them on ourselves, but this kid seems to have an undying love of shoes, that's for sure.
I uploaded a few pictures to the post, I'm not sure how the mobile app will display it's quite but hey we'll give it a shot. One of them is at the children's museum, where we found a train table. He wasn't too interested in the trains but he like to tell them on the ground so there's that. The other one is of his new haircut. Even his daddy thought his hair, especially in the back, was getting quite long. So I took the clippers and a 1 inch all around his head, did a pretty good job with only a couple little long strands left in there. But being a squirmy baby, he had had enough so we will get it another day.
Pretty good for just quick update, have a good one.

Happy Birthday, Peanut!!!
Happy birthday to you! It was a great day, the cake was tasty, the presents were fun, and the company was awesome!
We were sad that it was Auntie K (and soon to be Uncle Z's) last day with us, but K spent most of the day with us, playing and looking after Peanut so that we could prep and clean for the party. Boi was awesome, he basically cleaned the house from top to bottom while I baked and hung balloons and organized party stuff.
Next we have GMa's birthday, hopefully we'll be able to have fun. Peanut got his shots, and he seems very sore. He's also getting over a cold.
He's now 10 inches taller then when he was born. 15 pounds heavier. Head is growing exponentially. Just shy of 30 inches, so technically he can still ride in his infant seat, if he needed to. He knows shoes go on feet, and he knows keys go in doorknobs. He will 'come here' and go get some of his toys on command. Doc says he ought to know 3 words by 15 months. Can't wait!!! He's still a baby till he starts talking. Still my Peanut :)

Random Update
I guess people were right when they say that the more your baby is moving around, the less time you have to blog/scrapbook/etc. But I still upload videos on occassion. So even if there's nothing here, you can go to my youtube channel for an update.
http://www.youtube.com/user/laughingstare
There's the link. And here's the video of him walking across the room. He had done a ton of walking that night (only while holding his sippy cup though) so I got out my phone to record him, and I made that choice right on time because his next attempt was this one:
We just opened up the dining room to him, the kitchen is still closed off, but we're having problems with trying to keep things safe without hiding everything. Sighs. But we're taking it an item at a time. I'm usually always with him, and whenever I see him getting into something new, I take steps to babyproof that. Letting him show me what's up and what he's learning to get into.
Other then that, we had fun on Sunday, went to Mirror Lake State Park. I was a bit dissapointed that you couldn't get to the lake without a nice long hike, and we weren't up for that at the time with a small Peanut. So we just waded in the river, and took a one mile hike, and took off. We met up with some friends and there 10-11 month olds and older siblings in the Dells. Peanut got to pet and feed some goats and deer. So he had a blast. Hopefully everyone has fun tomorrow too!

Oh hai there
| I can stand! |
His sleep is still mostly awful. We don't know what's wrong right now, I'm actually kind of hoping the last few nights he did have whatever bug I had. Because he should be getting over it, and then hopefully start sleeping longer stretches again. He's turned into quite the 'butt in the air' sleeper though, which is cute. Every night before going to bed, I close my eyes, and slowly make my way to his room, slip in, sidle up to the side of his crib, open my eyes, and try to track down where he is in the crib. Then I stand there, and modify my guess as my eyes adjust to the dark. I go from, his head is towards this corner, to, he's got one arm funny and his head to the left, then oh hay, he's still got his nook in his mouth. If I can't track down his nook, I run my feet along the ground to try to find it, and if I find it, I stick it in front of his face for him to find if he wakes up, in hopes that it soothes him back to sleep.
| At the splash pad |
But we're trying to do everything by the book. Fill him up right before bed, give him every opportunity to soothe himself back to sleep so he's able to do it more smoothly without getting disturbed. No talking or picking him up (which we did break these last few days because he was going from 1-4 without sleeping if we didn't). Trying every trick the experts give. Everyone says they shouldn't need to eat really at night by this age, but we just can't follow that rule when he claws desperately at me, tries to sign for milk, gets nowhere, then tries signing other things. It's so sad :( I wish he could just tell us what's wrong. And there he goes, asleep for 3 hours and the second time he's awake. Gonna go be mopey.
